COVID-19: Assetivity Office Update

Effective of today, in line with Government recommendations that people work from home where they can, all our team members based in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne will now be working from home. Our team can still be reached as normal by email or phone. All office phone lines are being diverted to mobile phones.

Assetivity is proud of the service it provides to its many clients throughout Australia and overseas, and we are highly committed to maintaining that same level of service and responsiveness throughout this time. Our commitment to delivering high quality, value for money services will remain unchanged, regardless of what happens over the next few months.

We are also strongly committed to doing whatever we can to minimise the spread of COVID-19 through the community, as this is the key to saving lives and minimising the longer term economic impact of this virus.

Our cloud-based technologies allow us to share documents and collaborate on improvements across our team and in conjunction with our clients.  We have access to video-conferencing technologies that allow us to hold meetings and workshops with our clients.  We are currently actively looking at options for providing our highly regarded training programs via on-line methods.

We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation while complying with all Government directives and clients’ policies.

Please stay safe and well.  If there is anything that we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted by this virus.

COVID-19: Our Response

An important update from Assetivity in response to COVID-19.

As concern around COVID-19 continues to grow, I’m writing to assure you that everyone here at Assetivity is working hard to ensure the health and well-being of our staff, our community, and our clients.

Assetivity is proud of the service it provides to its many clients throughout Australia and overseas, and we are highly committed to maintaining that same level of service and responsiveness throughout this time. Our commitment to delivering high quality, value for money services will remain unchanged, regardless of what happens over the next few months.

As a company, we are able to work remotely to our clients’ operations for an extended period with minimal effect on the delivery of our services.  Our cloud-based technologies allow us to share documents and collaborate on improvements across our team and in conjunction with our clients.  We have ready access to video-conferencing technologies that allow us to hold meetings and workshops with our clients.  We have a working from home policy that allows our staff to continue to deliver our consulting services effectively and efficiently, even when not in our offices.

We have been using these technologies for some time now, and for us, it really is “business as usual”.

The focus on social distancing has caused some minor adjustments to the way we work, however.  We have suspended all face-to-face classroom training until the end of May, and our capability to deliver face-to-face on-the-job coaching is also restricted.  However, remote technologies still provide us with the opportunity to deliver some of these services on a more limited basis.

We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation while complying with all Government directives and clients’ policies.

Lastly, we greatly appreciate and welcome your support. Please stay safe and well during this challenging time.  If there is anything that we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted by this virus.

Managing Director

COVID-19: Training Courses Update

An important update from Assetivity about our Training Courses

In response to the situation regarding COVID-19, and to meet our responsibilities to help control the spread of the virus, Assetivity is suspending all public classroom training courses effective immediately until the end of May 2020. We will reassess our future training program as the situation develops, guided by advice from the Government and health experts. Participants who have already booked into a training course during this period will be contacted by Assetivity to discuss rescheduling options.

We thank you for your support as we all work together to control the spread of COVID-19.

NEW ARTICLE: How do I become an Asset Management Assessor?

To become a certified ISO 55001 auditor you need to meet the competences outlined in ISO 17021-5:2013 – Part 5: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of asset management systems. The Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) also provides some guidance in their Auditor Assessor Specification. To learn more, read the article here.

NEW ARTICLE: Planning and Scheduling – Getting the basics right

As a trainer I’m sometimes surprised by the answers to two simple questions from skilled personnel from planning and scheduling departments attending Planning and Scheduling training.

The first being, “What is Planning?”.
And the second, “What is Scheduling?”.

In most cases people get the gist of the concept correct, but there are always a few who muddle or confuse the two concepts.

One reason could be that the difference in the two concepts has never been explained or because people do not see it as two separate concepts. Another reason for this could be where one person is responsible for both these functions without having a clear understanding of the boundaries of each. “It’s the planner’s job, right?”

Do not get me wrong, the planning and scheduling function could be performed by the same person, but only if they understand the differences in the processes and when they should be wearing which hat – planning or scheduling.
