Our summer vacation program

Assetivity’s Summer Vacation Program gave me the opportunity to grasp and apply asset management and reliability concepts in the real world with ample client interaction, something that I found was missed while studying at university.

The employees at Assetivity were encouraging and very easy to work with. I was able to leverage and learn off their experiences and knowledge for my own development.

The workplace also enabled me to learn facets of business management and development. Over the program, the scope of is not only limited to client-based engineering. Rather, the program gives you a rounded view how engineering businesses operate from the background to the client-end.

Assetivity’s Summer Vacation Programme has been an extremely valuable experience for me as I have been able to learn a great wealth of knowledge about Asset & Maintenance Management within a relatively short amount of time. I have also been able to develop my technical and interpersonal skills though collaboratively working with other consultants on large projects and interacting with engineers on-site. The exposure to industry and the opportunities that Assetivity’s Summer Vacation Programme provides is truly invaluable.

My time at Assetivity has been an incredibly valuable experience – it really has allowed me to take on exciting challenges in an enjoyable and supportive environment.

The wide range of clients that I’ve been exposed to (particularly in the mining sector) is especially valuable to me. I had the privilege to travel interstate to work onsite at a large mutli-metals processing facility, and that experience is something I will probably never forget.

In terms of the work environment, the staff in the office are always friendly and approachable, which makes the potentially daunting transition from University life to an office environment easy and effortless. The amount of knowledge and experience the staff have -and are willing to share- is amazing and I cannot recommend this company enough.

Accepting this position gave me a better understanding of asset management and what this area requires from an undergraduate engineer. The personal mentorship, guidance and experience I received was beneficial for my growth as an excellent engineer in this area of specialisation.

Its understandable why Assetivity is one of the leading consultancies for asset management in Australia due to their excellent quality of work and dedication to their clients to achieve their goals.

The Summer vacation program was valuable, and it exposed me to new ideas, highly skilled professionals and opportunities to connect with industries. For me, it was my first Australian work experience and it has helped me develop skills to manage work life balance and work in a new country, culture and diverse nationality.

So far, it has opened me to a new career path in Asset Reliability and Maintenance which I am gladly pursing and hoping to develop more in years to come.

Visiting Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Cape Lambert Port was a great learning experience and enabled me to visualise the processes and equipment I was working on.  I would probably say the most interesting facet of the programme are the people you work with, they are very experienced and approachable and always willing to pass on nuggets of wisdom!

The people are welcoming, friendly, helpful and patient.  The organisation is very team oriented and I felt like I was part of everything. I was working in a field I had never been exposed to before, and I always enjoy new experiences.

I found the Summer Vacation Programme very valuable, as it exposed me to a side of management that most graduates won’t normally encounter for years.  This makes the lessons and skills that the programme exposed me to even more valuable, as they will prove useful throughout my career.

For me it was the first time that I had worked in an office environment with other engineers and it also provided me with some great exposure to the mining industry. Considering that I had previously always worked within the maritime industry, I found this to be great exposure.
