Assetivity, one of Australia’s leading Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management consultancies, is seeking to add to its consulting team. We are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Planner who is keen to “make a difference” in developing and implementing improved Maintenance Planning, Scheduling and Reliability processes at our varied range of clients.

The Position

This is a full-time, permanent position, although we are prepared to also consider those who are interested only in a short term contract. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your technical and interpersonal skills, working alongside some highly talented and internationally recognised Maintenance and Asset Management leaders. It will also give you the opportunity to make a valued contribution to the operational success of some of the world’s leading organisations in the mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, utilities and infrastructure industries.

The successful candidate will primarily perform consulting assignments to improve Maintenance Planning and Scheduling practices, processes and performance at our clients. Opportunities will also exist to become involved in assignments aimed at improving equipment reliability.  Typical activities will include:

  • Establishing, Reviewing and Improving Master Data, including data related to:
    • Functional Locations/Equipment
    • PM Assemblies/Bills of Materials/Parts Lists
    • Preventive Maintenance routines/Tasks Lists/Maintenance Items
  • Reviewing and improving Maintenance Planning and Scheduling processes
  • Writing Work Instructions and Repair procedures
  • Coaching Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Supervisors and other stakeholders in “best practice” Maintenance Work Management practices including Lean Maintenance practices
  • Reviewing and Optimising Preventive Maintenance programs using RCM, PMO and other techniques
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis investigations
  • Recommending optimum spare parts holding levels

In the medium to longer term, there is also an opportunity for you to grow with us, developing your technical and interpersonal skills, progressively assuming greater responsibility for client and assignment management, and assisting with business development.   After joining us, a formal Personal Development Plan will be established to assist with your career development.

Your Qualifications and Experience

A relevant trade level qualification is essential.  Diploma level qualifications in a technical discipline such as Maintenance Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be highly regarded, but candidates with relevant practical experience should also apply.

You will need to demonstrate advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to produce high quality end user documentation. Experience using SAP is essential.  Additional experience with Ellipse, Oracle eAM or similar CMMS would be a bonus. Exposure to the successful implementation of significant improvements in Maintenance and Asset management performance will be well regarded, and your CV should include specific, demonstrable achievements in one or more of the areas listed above.

At least five years’ experience in a Maintenance Planning or Technical Writing role in the Mining, Mineral Processing, Oil & Gas, or other hazardous process industries is preferred, but we will also consider your job application if you have had equivalent experience in other, relevant industries, such as Power Generation, Utilities, Defence, Aerospace or Heavy Manufacturing.

The ability to relate well to client staff is highly important, as is a high degree of self-motivation, and the capability to take the initiative and work independently when required.

Previous line management or supervisory experience will be well regarded, as will additional business or management qualifications.

Previous consulting experience is not essential, but will be advantageous.

About Us

Assetivity is a specialist management consultancy that assists its clients to improve the productivity and effectiveness of its equipment and its people.  We apply a combination of technical, business analysis and change management skills and methodologies to improve “whole-of-life” asset performance.  We work at both strategic and operational levels, interacting with the boardroom, the shopfloor and all organisational levels in between, providing guidance, mentorship and specialist expertise to allow our clients to improve profitability and reduce business risks.

Founded in 2000, Assetivity's consultants are highly regarded both within Australia and internationally for their expertise. Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, our clients include leading organisations in the mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, manufacturing and utilities sectors.

We work at client sites throughout Australia, and have performed several international consulting assignments for Mining and other companies in South East Asia, South America and Africa.

It is anticipated that this role would be primarily located in Perth.  However from time to time, extensive travel to client sites may be required and the successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the capability to meet this requirement.  Where at all possible, however, we do try to make sure that travel arrangements fit in with our staff’s personal and family commitments.

A base salary in the range from $90,000 to $125,000 per annum will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.   In addition, we offer allowances for travel, mobile phone usage and further education.
