Comprehensive Maintenance Assessment and Audit
Our client was a significant Copper and Gold producer. With a softening of the Copper price, plus a greater level of maturity in plant operations,  they felt that it was appropriate to undertake an objective, external assessment of their Maintenance Management systems and processes, with a view to obtaining independent guidance regarding the focus for future maintenance improvement initiatives which may most quickly result in improved bottom-line performance.

Operations and Maintenance Training Needs Analysis
At this large cement plant, training for staff and wages personnel was largely ad-hoc and reactive. Accordingly, Assetivity was engaged to develop a Skills Matrix, perform a Gap Analysis, and develop a Training Plan for 20 key Maintenance and Operating roles, including Reliability Engineers, Mechanical Engineers , Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, Maintenance Technicians and Tradesmen, Production Supervisors, and Stores Personnel.

Operations and Maintenance Strategic Plan
At the time that this assignment was conducted, this gold mine was the fourth largest gold mine in Australia, and one of the lowest cost producers. However, forecasts showed that production volumes would drop, and costs would rise as reserves diminished. This called into doubt the long-term viability of the mine. There was an urgent need to identify strategic opportunities to simultaneously increase output and reduce costs.

Maintenance Improvement Program (Mining)
As part of a major cost reduction initiative, this large Iron Ore mine was seeking to reduce maintenance manning levels in their fixed plant operations by around 30%.

Asset Integrity Management Planning
Following a number of high profile failures, this mine and processing site had begun to focus greater attention on Asset Integrity Management.
